E-Invoicing & E-Reporting

The way businesses invoice in France is undergoing its biggest change in decades. Mandatory electronic invoicing (facturation électronique) and digital transaction tracking (e-reporting) are being introduced for all French businesses, including Micro-Entrepreneurs and small enterprises.
Standard PDFs sent by email or paper forms will no longer meet regulatory standards. Moving forward, invoices must be generated in a certified digital format (like Factur-X) using government-approved platforms.

The official implementation timelines are:

1 September 2026
You must be operationally ready to receive electronic invoices from your suppliers

1 September 2027
You must be set up to issue electronic invoices and transmit your transaction data via e-reporting
